Today the PICS ITech team in conjunction with the Burlington County Chamber of Commerce and the American Red Cross sent the ITech van around to businesses in South Jersey to collect food supplies for Hurricane Sandy victims. PICS ITech is approximately 30 miles from where the center of the storm made landfall in New Jersey. Although our data center operations were not damaged many in our area were not so fortunate.
Our team worked with the ITech customers to make sure all systems were backed up and powered down in an orderly fashion before the storm made landfall. "In a situation like this, we like to error on the side of caution. Many of our customers could have been down for weeks and even months without our ITech S.A.V.E.S. devices backing up their critical data and providing virtualization", said Terry Rossi CIO of PICS ITech. "Collecting the food supplies for the hurricane victims was the least that we could do to help the community".
